星座与性格

尽管拥有美丽的神话以及性格上具体的概括,我仍然认为星座只能作为符号解释你孕育和出生的自然环境。每个人都是一个不同的个体,发展的方向亦不相同,并不能说出生在夏天的人就不能拥有理智的头脑。我们的一生,幼年到成年,总会经历幼稚到成熟,细细对比星座上面形容人们性格的词汇,总会在某一个时段某件事上面找到并不不符合的词汇,最奇妙的是个体,并没有东西可以完全开概括你。

我们为什么会对天上的星星有如此大的兴趣呢?我认为我们之所以去相信星座是因为它迎合了我们内心对于了解他人了解自己的需求,而心理学、星座的产生正是源于此。而很多星座的用词都是广泛而模棱两可的,放在自己身上就感觉似乎是真的。更多时候,在交往与生活中,我们往往轻信这种虚无缥缈的东西而忽略了人与人本身的交流,以为自己很了解对方,其实是受到了自己潜意识的致使。

星座强大的暗示性促成我们对星座的迷恋,把它作为生活的消遣无可厚非,而真正的人生和命运还是掌握在自己的手里!

History of Computers

Did you know from where the word “Computer” comes from? The word computer originally referred to a person who did the calculation very fast, without the need of any mechanical devices. The idea for computer began with people who wanted to make calculations easier. In between 1000BC and 500BC, the abacus was invented in Babylonia, and this made calculation simpler. It actually was a computer made of strings and beads.

The first automatic calculator was invented in 1642 by Blasie Pascal. However, none of these devices could be compared to the computer as they could not be programmed. The first step in the direction of computers was taken in 1801 when Joseph Marie Jacquard invented a punch card machine that could be used for weaving. The card made sure that the threads went through the right order. It used codes in order to work.

The first device that might be considered as a computer in modern days was conceived in 1822 by the British mathematician and inventor Charles Babbage. In Babbage’s time, mathematical tables were carried out by a group of mathematicians who worked day and night on primitive calculations. In 1822 Babbage proposed building a machine know as ‘Difference Engine’ to automatically calculate these tables. The Difference Engine was only partially completed, when Babbage thought of building an easier machine known as ‘Analytical Engine’.

In the year 1890, new light flashed on the idea of computers. Mr. Herman Hollerith designed the first machine known as ‘Punch Card Machine’. This machine punched holes on card to store data or information. In the year 1945, the first general all purpose electronic computer was invented. It was ENIAC, short form for Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer. ENIAC filled an entire room, weighed 30 tons, and consumed 200 kilowatts of power. Vacuum tubes, over 19,000 of them, were the principal elements in the computer’s circuitry. The second ENIAC invented could perform 5,000 additions, 357 multiplications or 38 divisions.

From 1945 to 1979, numerous computers were invented for different purposes. Vacuum tubes were replaced with the transistors in the second generation. In the third generation computers, integrated chip replaced transistors. In the fourth generation, thousands of integrated chips were built onto a single silicon chip known as microprocessor. Every year there is a new development in the field of technology. As a result, computer gained tremendous speed, accuracy and reliability. Even the size and cost have reduced.

Now a days super computers have been developed, which are the most powerful computers. The world’s fastest super computer is named as ‘Cray XT5 Jaguar’. It is a machine that performs over two thousand trillion calculations per second! Eka is the fastest super computer of India. It can perform 117.9 trillion calculations per second! It has been rated the fourth fastest by the internationally recognized Top500 listing’ projects.

遗失的星球

“滴滴——”
船舱内突然寂静了一下,侦察兵李深吸了一口气,站起来向指挥长敬了一个我所见过的最不标准的军礼——因为激动,他浑身都在颤抖,就像那些被外星虫寄生的病人一样。从我这个角度可以清楚地看见他熬红的眼眶,以及平常只写着严谨的眸子里发出的恒星一样耀眼的光芒。
我的手也在微微地颤抖,我知道李接下来的话也许会把我变成和他一样的寄生虫病人,所有人都会疯狂。
李说:“报告指挥长,前方坐标1735处发现一颗古行星,经元素分析与母星相似度65%,扫描仪显示,上面有文明存在过的痕迹。”他极力压抑的冷静声音突然变得沙哑:“兄弟们,我们很有可能,找到了我们的母星——遗失了四千年的地球。”
空气变得炙热起来,我吸入的每一口人造空气都让我的胸腔变得更加火热,我能感到体内的血脉在沸腾。我的眼睛一定红了,因为所有的战士眼睛都红了。我们在战场上可以像钛合金一样冷冽,但是在即将面对很有可能就是地球的遗失星球时,再冷硬的战士也会瞬间燃烧。
那可是地球!自从四千年前人类因为地球资源的耗尽而不得不离开后,没有人再到达过那里。前几百年,离开的人类还可以为自己能进行星际旅行而沾沾自喜:他们无知地以为再找到一个和地球大气环境相似、地理环境相似并且有液态水的星球后,就能安稳地居住下来,建造新的家园。他们确实找到了这样几个星球,但是这些星球都是另有所属,那是其他智慧生命的家园。经过沟通后,这些智慧生命同意人类暂住下来。可当时的人类一定没有看到那些原住民眼里的同情——这种同情与怜悯我现在都可以从我的外星朋友眼里看到——他们只是因为能在星际间旅行近千年后找到一个落脚地而欣喜。
他们一定不会知道,当年引以为傲的太空之旅,竟然成为了一场灾难的开端。前几十年大家相安无事,可是很快,就有人开始莫名地提前衰老,哪怕有高科技的医疗设备,人的寿命仍然骤减。科学家们找不到原因,眼睁睁地看着人类也许就要这样灭绝。这时更高文明的智慧体告诉人类:生命体与催生生命体的星球之间有一种他们也没有研究清楚的关系,他们称之为生命物。一旦这些生命离开母星太远,场的作用太微弱时,生命体就会衰竭。
原因找到了,人类却高兴不起来。千年的跋涉已经让他们忘了出发地,地球已成为历史教材书里的一个符号,成为数据库里的一段代码。人类终于看懂了别人对自己的同情,知道了自己被别人称为“星际流浪者”。
星际流浪者,没有根,没有家;找不到来路,就找不到出路。
人类花了一千年离开地球,却花了三千年找回来。
也许,我们已经找到了,这颗遗失在深邃宇宙里的母星。
我抬头望向指挥长,强大的军人自制力让我们没有什么出格之举。指挥长的表情依然很冷酷严厉,但是他紧握的拳头出卖了他。他开始扫视我们:“勇士们,是时候要结束这趟旅程了!我们终于要回家了!现在,四小队负责飞船的降落,其他小队换上最好的战甲,我们要以最好的面貌回到母亲的怀抱!”
很快,我们分成两人一组坐上小型飞行器——这是最快的飞行工具了——我和李分到了一起。黑色的太空里忽然出现了一团灿烂的银色星云,我看见我的同胞们急不可耐地驾着银色飞行器流星一般滑向那颗蓝色的星球,像离家太久的孩子冲回母亲的怀抱
也许她已经被遗失了太久,此刻的地球已经苟延残喘。我们也许会责备前人对地球的伤害,而导致她疲备不堪,但是这一刻,一切都不重要了,没有孩子会介意母亲的穷困潦倒,更何况是这些孩子一手造成的;当然也不会有母亲介意孩子的伤害,只是敞开大门,默默地等着他们回家。这是一种无止尽的奉献与爱,地球对人类的爱。
我与李对望了一眼,都看出彼此对回归的渴望。对面那颗遗失的星球就是我们的根源。人类有句古话叫“落叶归根”,叶只有找到根,才能找到生命的归属。“星际流浪者”就是在广褒宇宙中脆弱的浮萍,现在这浮萍找到了自己的港湾。
我利落地将速度调到最快,变成千万颗银色流星中的一颗。
妈妈,我们离开你太久了。
我们为我们曾犯下的不可饶恕的罪行忏悔。
现在,我们穿越几千光年的距离,回来了。
我们真的想你。

N星度假

一艘光离子飞船正以极快的速度脱离大气层,飞向外太空。而我,就在这飞船内,享受着船舱中的优美旋律。

 

这份舒适对我来说可真是难得。在当今社会中,效率与财富似乎已经成为全球人类的风向标,例如我此行的目的地——N星度假村就是个好例子。N星是离地球888万光年的一颗小行星,据说那上面的环境和地球相似简直是如假包换,只是体积只有月球那么大而已。N星被发现后,Z国首富金迷先生以天价购下了它,又用史上最最惊人的速度完成了N星度假村的建设,并且在短短一年的时间内就获利80多亿美元,真可谓既将“效率”两字发挥到极致,又将“财富”收入囊中。我,Y报社记者,名叫凯尔,不久前刚刚荣膺国际新闻大奖,获得了一次免费N星度假七日的机会。

 

此刻,光离子飞船正带着我进行空间跳跃,开始了N星度假。

 

两小时后,888万光年的距离就已被我抛在身后,飞船徐徐降落在N星机场。走下舷梯,我立马惊呆了,因为我居然看见N星的主人——金迷先生正伸出右手,满面春风地快步向我走来,分明就是要与我握手啊!要知道金迷先生是何等高高在上的人,他去某些国家洽谈商业合作项目时,总统都会去机场迎接。而金迷先生此刻主动前来迎接并与我握手,真让我受宠若惊。

 

“您好您好,您就是国际新闻大奖得主凯尔先生吗?”说话的正是金迷先生。“啊,是!我就是凯尔。幸会幸会,能见到金迷先生真是三生有幸啊!”

 

“凯尔先生这是哪里话,接下来的几天请凯尔先生尽情享受,如有招待不周,还请凯尔先生多多包涵啊!”

 

钻进金迷先生的宾利车后,我们毫无拘束地攀谈起来。聊了一会儿我才知道,原来金迷先生是想让我为他的N星度假村写一个专题报道,利用我在新闻界的名气,为他的度假村招揽更多的顾客。哼!我就知道天下没有免费的午餐。但这笔交易还是挺划算的,我也就欣然应允了。

 

几天后,我终于明白N星度假村豪华到了什么程度。首先要说的是人手一双“重力鞋”。由于N星体积比地球小得多,引力自然也就小了许多,所以人们的工作和生活会极为不便,而这双“重力鞋”可以先设置你所需的重力大小,然后在你周围一米范围内形成相应大小的重力场,让你既可体验失重的快感,又可以方便地享受日常生活或是从事你所喜欢的工作。其次就是“游戏人生体验馆”了,在这里,你可以选择任意一款热门游戏,然后令自己通往“脑波休眠器”,身临其境,成为游戏主角。诸如此类的神奇物品真是数不胜数。难怪N星度假村让每个去过的人都流连忘返。

 

度假第六天,我感觉自己为这个专题报道所准备的素材也差不多了,便起身去度假村中心大厦找金迷先生。金迷先生乐呵呵地将我迎进他的办公室,我将报道提纲讲给他听,他连连拍手称赞。

 

“那个……金迷先生,冒昧地问一句,您当初究竟是如何在那么短的时间内将神奇的度假村建在这遥远的星球上的呢?呃……如果这涉及商业机密,您也可以回避。”

 

金迷先生略微沉思后,淡然一笑说:“好,既然凯尔先生想知道,那么我也不隐瞒了。请跟我来。”

 

我随着金迷先生走进一扇设有虹膜和指纹双重认证锁的电梯门,电梯开始向地下行进。约摸过了一分钟,电梯停了下来,显示器上显示已达地下八十八层。我的天,这么深啊!以N星的半径来看,我们似乎已经来到了N星的地下岩矿层了吧?这么深的地段会有什么秘密呢?

 

电梯门缓缓打开,展现在眼前的景象不禁令我大吃一惊:这是一座看不到边际的巨大工厂,至于在生产什么我不得而知。但最令人震撼的莫过于这里的“工人”了,他们简直不能称之为人,因为他们的平均身高均超过两米,强健的肌肉覆盖全身,只是每个“工人”的脚上都戴有一副银白色的脚铐。这是……

2013 —— 转折点

北京市丰台区云岗中学高二年级 宋广皓

       不知不觉中,来到方舟上已经快半年了,这里的水比人的血还要珍贵。海水淡化机组即使二十四小时不停地转,也永远没有填平过如此巨大的供给缺口。然而比这更加棘手的是:剩下的粮食只够维持两年,那时,我们将穷途末路。
从今天的广播中我们得知,方舟正驶向距北极点一百公里左右的挪威斯瓦尔巴群岛,那里有一座大型的地下种子库,是科学家们专门为了预防全球性灾难而建立的。感谢上帝不仅给了我们方舟,还给了我们希望。另外方舟上的人会对做出这个英明决定的人感恩戴德的,虽然他未曾被人知晓。
想想一年以前,电视中还在不知疲倦地报道面临灭绝的动植物数字,我想如果电视机有思想的话,那么它也会发现一个现象——这数字从来只增不减。现在想想,我们一边乱伐森林,滥垦草原,这一切都只为了让一个叫GDP的数字更高一些。而另一边却用这数字来“吓唬”自己,何必呢?1996年,当我还是个婴儿时,国际保护自然联盟做出的报告就写道:地球上经人类影响后的物种平均灭绝速度是人类出现前的一百万倍。而一年后我不得不相信,因为事实就摆在我面前。忽然又想到了哲学中讲到的“量变最终导致质变”的原理,真是让人难以理解,如此简单的道理,那些叱咤风云的政客们却不懂。
当我正在房间里发呆时,方舟猛地一动,我一下子被甩到了床上,接着便收到了通知:

关于2013年太阳风的通知

       同胞们,经科学家们证实,2008年12月由美国宇航局预测的2013强太阳风暴即将到来。由于方舟上的防磁暴装置无法抵御,遂决定快速驶向挪威,在太阳风暴来临之前尽量将种子种植下去,以解决生存问题。

       看来再伟大的人类工程奇迹也拗不过大自然的脾气。由于地球防御太阳风的“铠甲”——磁气圈是从大气中“偷”走电子来维持自身存在的,而近百年来大气的质量每况愈下,使磁气圈越来越薄。终于,随着南极的臭氧层出现空洞,磁气圈也随之破了一个大洞,致使地球防御太阳风的能力降到了历史新低。能否在太阳风暴袭击地球之前将种子送到世界各地,谁也不知道。
而我们唯一知道的就是,当风暴到来时我们若还在海上航行,方舟便会无法操作,我们都将会成为历史的尘埃。
现在我能做的只有祈祷了。

后记:
三十年后的今天,我偶然发现了我的这篇随笔。后来,我回到了中国的土地上,但与以前不同的是,现在再没有国界,各国政要组成了联合政府,他们采纳了一个孩子的意见,将新政府命名为“地球联邦”。
由于没有了战争,没有了破坏与歧视,我们将自己与灾难前的人类相分开,作为另一个物种站在大自然的面前,我们给予了自己新的名字——新人类。
而2013年,被认为是新人类诞生的一年。
人类从此走向了另一条路。在孩子的课本上总印着这么一句话:如果你想活着,与其造一个方舟,不如把地球变成方舟。

Dinosaurs and their descendants

Dinosaurs are ancient creatures, which lived on the earth millions of years ago. What is left of them now are bones which have been hardened over the years called fossils. Fossils are remains of living components, which have mixed with mud and soil. After a period of 6 million years the first humans appeared on earth. Over the years’ technology improved, and life became more and more complicated until today.

It is said that the only living descendants of these magnificent creatures are modern birds. Rumour is that dinosaurs evolved into birds. The first living bird-like creatures were called Archaeopteryx. Archaeopteryx had feathers but couldn’t fly. Instead they resolved to gliding from branches. For example, a dinosaur slowly grew feathers over a period of time. With these feathers they were able to leap from tree to tree. Slowly, these feathers evolved into wings and enabled the dinosaur to glide from one place to another. Over a period of time, these wings became better and the muscles became stronger, and they finally became the first birds. It is good if birds are studied carefully, and if they are, there is a chance that we may find out more about dinosaur bones. With the dinosaurs, there were also aquatic animals.

Today’s sea creatures, such as sharks, whales and fish, are descendants of these ancient aquatic creatures. The people who excavate and study about dinosaurs are called paleontologists. When we reach a higher level of technology, we might be able to extract DNA from fossils and recreate genetically engineered dinosaurs. If we can do this, we can even reverse the extinction of these great creatures.

Usage of Technology for Educating Children in USA Schools: A Bliss

Technology has changed every aspect of our lives including the education system and the process of learning which forms an integral part of every individual’s life. Inculcation of technology in education has not only reduced the burden of the teachers and students, but has also made the learning process very interesting and easy to understand for the students.

Everyone seems to be fascinated by the usage of technological equipments used while teaching like projectors and smart boards. As per the data, the percentage of computer usage for teaching in schools has almost increased by 80% in the past one decade. Only 18% of public schools in US had computers for instructing the children in the year 1981 which increased drastically to 98% in the year 1991.

Teachers are well versed with the usage of technological equipments who help the students in learning the matter in a better manner. Children enjoy the audio and visual effect of the smart borads used by the teachers for teaching the students. The animations used for teaching various topics add to the interest of the students and makes them more inquisitive to learn more about the topic.

The fact can’t be denied that the inculcation of technology has helped both the teachers and the students. While the burden on the teacher is reduced, the efficiency of the students have also increased with the active learning process.

Now, the teacher is not the center of attention, but she acts as a facilitator or a guide and helps the students in getting the information in a better manner through technological methods. With technology involved in education, the students are more active in their learning. Usage of technology in the classroom gives opportunity to the students to be more interactive during the session and even clarify the parts with the teacher or ask her to repeat the instructions using the smart board.

According to the information provided by the teachers using latest technological methods for teaching students, students showed high level of motivation by learning using technological equipments. The main reason for this was their freedom from the normal classroom setting and the boring lecture sessions which couldn’t retain the attention of the students for a longer duration.

手机-优点

相比西方国家,中国,作为发展中国家,各项科技发展起步较晚,但是,在快速借鉴西方发展国家的科学技术的发展成果的基础上,中国的科技进步十分迅速。尤其是中国的电信行业的发展,其成就令人鼓舞。

记得在高中时期,能拥有一部手机就是莫大的荣幸。那时候,诺基亚还是手机行业的领头羊,无论班上哪一位同学使用一部智能手机,其他的同学都会向他(她)投来羡慕的眼光。相比北上广,我所在的城市只是中国的一个小小的三线城市,因此,学生们都不知道“苹果”手机。而那时,也没有花样繁多的社交软件,QQ就是大家使用最大的聊天软件,手机的主要功能也只是看视频,玩游戏和通话。

现如今,只要你身在中国,无论你走在那一个城市,放眼望去,你可以可以看到大家都在使用各种智能手机,而且,“苹果”和“三星”这样的国际品牌在中国已经家喻户晓。如今,手机的功能也不仅仅限于通话和看视频等基础功能。各种APP 的应用已经普及到大家日常生活的方方面面。购物支付,医院挂号,水电充值等等生活琐事都可以运用手机解决。从2G到3G,3G到4G,每次数据网络的提速用时不到一年。也就在这几年信息化浪潮之中,我们许多优秀的企业也渐渐崛起,例如“华为”“中兴”“小米”等,不仅在中国的销售市场十分火爆,在海外市场,我国的企业也都占有重要的一席之地。
