Background on Southeast Asian Parenting

Background on Southeast Asian Parenting
In order to understand the parenting styles of South Asian parents, we need first to understand the learned and shared experiences within social groups that shape the parents’ personal connection on their family.
Normally, Southeast Asians consist of many family members that come from three or four generations living together. Usually, nuclear families consist of four to eight children, depending on the economic stability and social status and cultural group.
The culture of Southeast Asian centers on the person’s religious, economic, political and social part in the family. It also gives an understanding that the responsibilities of every member of the family are for the benefit of each other. As a concrete, example, older parents and siblings must nurture the children as they grow so that when the time comes that they are mature enough to handle responsibilities, they will take the responsibility to take care of their aging parents or siblings. Family relationships and responsibilities are clearly explained. Helping each other is a two-way process that makes their relationship stronger and creating successful tasks will help each other grow.
When it comes to raising their children, Southeast Asian parents give importance to education and knowledge because knowledge is essential for wisdom and goodness.

Coral Bleaching: Irreversible Fading of a Beautiful Painting
Coral Bleaching: Irreversible Fading of a Beautiful Painting
When it comes to the most beautiful and impressive creature in the sea, some people will think about colorful fish, and others will consider huge and mysterious whales. For me, I regard the coral reef as the most valuable treasure and gift of the great nature because of its endless diversity and beauty. Its color is unique, and its brightness instantly attracts people of all ages.
However, this magnificent painting has started to fade at an astonishing rate. When scientists contrast the Great Barrier Reef today with that twenty years ago, they are shocked by hundreds of square kilometers of bleached corals and their terrifyingly spiritless appearance. This tragic phenomenon can be found not only in the Great Barrier Reef but also in vast areas of waters across the whole planet. Many people may naively think that a coral reef is not a living creature and can form and thrive easily, but corals are in fact living creatures of many shapes, sizes, and types, serving a diverse range of crucial functions in the ecosystem, such as providing homes for fish and regulating water quality. Therefore, the death of corals can mean the death of the planet, and their extremely fragile health and life may never be restored because they are highly sensitive to the ambient temperature and light, among many other environmental factors.
In this regard, there is an urgent need to protect these beautiful but fragile creatures not only for their own welfare but also for the whole ecosystem and all living things on this small planet.
It is clear that coral bleaching has serious consequences, so efforts must be made to save coral reefs across the world. Scientists have proposed various methods to protect corals, including coral transplantation, sea surface temperature monitoring, and the expansion of buffer zones. In addition, because illegal fishing methods such as the use of dynamite and cyanide can kill corals, governments should implement policies that can address the livelihood needs of the fishing community while protecting coral reefs.
Such efforts are crucial for preventing coral bleaching and thus protecting nature for the healthy life and enjoyment of all living things.

The evolution of biotechnology

The evolution of biotechnology
It has been more than 30 years, biotechnology impacting science, law, health, and environment and many other sectors dramatically. In a short time span, you would be shocked to know that more than 300 biotechnology products have been approved and used widely.
The overall sales of these products were calculated more than $180 billion in the year 2014. This amount is good for sustaining and managing big life science sector that includes more than 5000 biotech companies worldwide.
Biotechnology is progressing rapidly and it affects healthcare sector in four different ways – innovation in medical science, government activities or support, business sector and development, healthcare facilities.
The future growth of biotechnology is certain as medical science is improving and progressing almost every day, government is offering incentives offers for medical sector rather it is public or private, Business leads to cost effective medical solutions, and healthcare provider promising better quality of care in coming years.

Student workers at Dongguan factory were under-age, state media claim

Student workers at Dongguan factory were under-age, state media claim
The electronics factory located in Dongguan employed about two hundred minor laborers and those young individuals were rescued and reportedly sent on their designated home following a revelation by media in the region.
Based on Guangzhou Daily, they had eleven working hours and each hour costs them 8.50 yuan (HK$10.67) and they used illegal records in order to grab the job.
According to newspaper reports, the one hundred ninety two “student workers” from Dongguan Gang Gu Electronic were able to go home through buses and were able to return in their communities, commonly in Hunan and Guangxi provinces.
The organizations supporting the rights of workers said that child labor is very rampant in the area and feature the issue to substandard failure at the level of city government.
The head of Guangdong Panyu Migrant Worker Centre in Guangzhou, Zeng Feiyang said that a factory that employs minor laborers must give them a salary as a charge amounting to 5,000 yuan in every person. However, there is no truth that these factories are charged. Rather, they were condemned by officers, relatively because there so many who are involved in the case.
The representative of Hong Kong-based China Labour Bulletin, Geoffrey Crothall, approved on this. He said that the city government is not driven sending groups for investigation in the factories until media reporters perform the mentioned secret investigations.
Dr Liu Kaiming, chairman of the Shenzhen-based Institute of Contemporary Observation also added that most of the junior graduates in secondary school living in rural areas decide to find jobs instead of studying in school.
